2019 Oscars scorecard: ‘Roma,’ Ethan Hawke, Regina King have racked up double digit wins at critics awards

On January 5, the National Society of Film Critics (NSFC) echoed the sentiments of many of their regional counterparts by awarding Ethan Hawke (“First Reformed”) its Best Actor prize and naming Olivia Colman (“The Favourite”) as the Best Actress of the year. Likewise they too lauded the scene-stealing featured performance of Regina King (“If Beale Street Could Talk”).

While the NSFC went against the grain by singling out “The Rider” as the best film of the year, they did give “Roma,” which has dominated the critics awards to date, two wins for multi-hyphenate Alfonso Cuaron in directing and cinematography.  (Scroll down to see the full scorecard to date.)
