Did Superfans goof by sending Sara and Hero to the dog house on ‘America’s Got Talent: The Champions’? [WATCH]

After coming in fifth place on “America’s Got Talent” Season 12, dog act Sara and Hero returned in the spinoff series “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” to show off their new moves. Despite judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel praising the popular duo, the Superfans who wield all the power voted to eliminate them during Monday’s season premiere. Watch Sara and Hero’s “AGT” performance above.

“The last time I was here I was living in my car, traveling the United States,” Sara said when she took the stage with her aging canine companion. “Now we have a house. We’ve settled down a little bit.” As a refresher, Sara and Hero almost didn’t make it past their original 2017 audition because Mel B and Howie voted “no.” That’s when Simon took the stage and begged them to change their votes. Howie switched to a “yes” and the rest is history.

Sara and Hero lost to ventriloquist Darci-Lynne Farmer the first time around, but this time it was those pesky Superfans that ended their journey. These so-called “delegates” from all 50 states watched the 10 performances on Monday and voted through comedian Preacher Lawson (also coincidentally from “AGT” Season 12) into the Finals. Preacher joins singer Susan Boyle, who advanced thanks to Mel B’s Golden Buzzer.

For their final act, Sara and Hero entertained with several new flips and tricks in the theme of a bank heist. Mel said that the act “just makes me smile.” Howie was proud of how Sara has changed her life around in the past two years, then reminded her, “Now it’s up to those 50 states to allow you to go further.” And Simon said that he “missed” Sara and Hero in his life.

Do you think the Superfans made the right decision to eliminate Sara and Hero in the first round? Let us know down in the comments section. The other acts eliminated on Monday night were sword swallower Alex Magala, singer Bianca Ryan, mentalist duo The Clairvoyants, dance troupe Justice Crew, contortionist Sofie Dossi, ladder acrobat Uzeyer Novruzov and comedian Vicki Barbolak.
