Have you been losing sleep over who are the stars performing in elaborate animal costumes on “The Masked Singer.” We’ve done some sleuthing and think we have uncovered the identities of these celebrities. We’ve already posted our theories on who the other winners of the sing-offs — the Peacock and Unicorn — as well as the Deer and Monster really are. That leaves just the Lion who closed the first show on Wednesday with a rollicking rendition of “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” (All We Got) by Fergie. (Watch her show-stopping performance in the video above.)
Forget those misleading statements by judges Nicole Scherzinger and Jenny McCarthy that it could be Lady Gaga hidden inside. Likewise dismiss that speculation by Robin Thicke that it could be a member of a girl group like Destiny’s Child.
We are all but certain that the Lion is Rumer Willis.
Let’s break down the clues she gave before singing:
“I’m Hollywood royalty” – Rumer is the oldest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore.
“I stepped away from my pride which has lots of women” – Rumer has two younger sisters Scout LaRue and Tallulah Belle as well as two younger paternal half-sisters from her father’s marriage to Emma Heming: Mabel and Evelyn.
After she performed, the judging panel made mention of her dance moves – Rumer dazzled on Broadway in the musical “Chicago.” And her are two more connections with the choice of costume: Among Rumer’s 22 tattoos was one of the face of a lion that had adorned her upper left arm. And she recently starred on the hit Fox drama “Empire,” which is centered around the lives of the Lyon family.
We won’t find out for sure if Rumer is the Lion till she is unmasked. That will only happen if she loses a match-up or wins the show. Do you think we are right about the true identity of the Lion? Sound off in the comments section with your best guesses.
